Filler generally refers to the material that is filled into other objects.
In chemical engineering, fillers refer to inert solid materials installed in the filling tower, such as Bauer rings and Lacy rings, whose function is to increase the contact surface between atmosphere and liquid, causing them to mix strongly with each other.
In chemical products, fillers, also known as fillers, refer to solid materials used to improve processing performance, mechanical properties of products, and/or reduce costs.
In the field of sewage treatment, it is mainly used for contact oxidation processes, where microorganisms accumulate on the surface of the filler to increase surface contact with the sewage and degrade the sewage.
Advantages: simple structure, low pressure drop, easy to manufacture with corrosion-resistant non-metallic materials, etc. It is quite suitable for gas absorption, vacuum distillation, and the treatment of corrosive fluids.
Disadvantage: When the tower neck increases, it causes uneven gas-liquid distribution, poor contact, etc., resulting in a decrease in efficiency, which is called amplification effect. At the same time, the packed tower also has disadvantages such as large weight, high cost, trouble in cleaning and maintenance, and large packing loss.
